Here are some quick tips to drop those extra pounds that you gained over the winter.  And out of all the tips that are posted please remember the most important one DO not starve yourself to shed the extra pounds, this will do more harm than good. So here we go:

1.  Get enough sleep: When you do not get enough sleep this effects our metabolism.  And the result from this is that we feel hungrier which makes us eat more.  Plus when we are tired we usually turn to food to give us extra energy.

2.  Do not beat yourself up for being overweight: Instead of being down on yourself because you are caring a bit of extra weight embrace the fact that you are over weight.  This will in turn give you a more self excepting feeling and lead to a better ending result of success.

3.  Set the right goals: Just having a goal that says" I want to loose 5 pounds per week" can really set yourself up for failure.  With this goal you should also have a plan of action to go with your goals.  So along with the goal of loosing the weight you might want to include with this that you will plan to exercise 3 times per week to meet you weight loose goal.  Making a more complete program will leave less to let you down if you do not loose the weight that you set out to loose.

4.  Make sure you 're eating enough:  If you decide to restrict your calorie intake to loose pounds you are going to do more harm then good.  This will usually end in unusually eating patterns and increase your chance of overeating.  Try eating more smaller meals more frequently.  Who ever said that we had to eat 3 square meals a day.  If you eat more less more often this will lead to better eating habits and in turn will get you closer to your weight loss goals.

5.  Try to cut Fast Food eating in Half:  The portions that you eat while at a fast food restaurant are usually twice the portions that you really should be eating, and because you are out at a restaurant we tend to have eyes bigger than our stomachs and finish everything that is in front of us.  That leaves us with that "stuffed" feeling which is never a good feeling.

6.  GO easy on those "low fat" foods: When we think of "low fat" we usually think of "low calorie" as well.  However that is not always the case.  And because we see the "low fat and low calorie" we tend to use this as an excuse to eat more.  Which defeats the purpose of getting a low fat snack.

7.  Go easy on the "Liquid Calories":  How often have you ever looked at the calories on a bottle of  regular pop?  Those calories really do add up.  Here is something to think about.  Just drinking one glass of wine a day can add to your waist line an extra 15 pounds at year's end.  Bet you never thought of that now did you.

8.  Enjoy your food:  When you finally sit down to eat your meal take a few deep breathes before you dig in.  This will in turn make you more relaxed and make you less likely to eat impulsively.
